Women’s Health Matters

Women’s Health Matters champions freedom for disadvantaged women and girls to give them a chance at a better life.

We support around 750 women each year in and around Leeds. These women are most at risk, including those experiencing domestic violence, those with children in care, and those with complex needs or mental health and wellbeing needs. We create a safe, nurturing environment to help women recover their confidence and regain control over their lives.

We specialise in group work, peer support, and one-to-one support. With your support, more women experiencing violence and abuse can raise these issues in safety and receive support without stigma or partner suspicion.

Chrysalis Prevention of Men’s Suicide

Mental health problems affect 1 in 4 of us, yet many men who are struggling are made to feel isolated, ashamed and worthless. Chrysalis Prevention of Men's Suicide is a local charity aiming to break down the stigma of men's mental health.

We run awareness days across Yorkshire encouraging men to have open conversations about mental health, organise weekly support groups, and offer a confidential free support and information service.

Your donation will help us raise money for a van to carry our equipment.

Sense

Sense is here to help people living with complex disabilities to communicate and experience the world. 4,350 people in Leeds are deafblind and this number is growing, meaning our services are needed now more than ever.

We offer personalised support through our centres, virtual support, and holidays and short breaks.

53% of people with complex disabilities report feeling lonely and isolated every day. With your support, we can change this.
